unmercifulfish This EP is a whole lot of fun to listen to. It balances a nostalgic, late 00s pop punk sound with something newer and more raw. Favorite track: Graffiti.

Graffiti 02:44
If you wanna get down If you wanna get hurt If you wanna get by for another night If you wanna breathe You forgot how to read You’re going too slow slow, graffiti oh Do you need proof that you’re still here? I know I do, that’s why I’m singing this If you wanna make sense Break apart common sense If you wanna express, get out of here Go write on the walls You forgot how to spell You’re going too slow slow, graffiti oh Do you need proof that you’re still here? I know I do, that’s why I’m singing this I’ve lost my intellect Can you help me find it? I have looked right down uncanny valley Between buildings and concrete alleys Behind the day to day it takes my breath away You and I are together hand in hand And I have seen strange forms take shape in the Abstract outpourings of being If you wanna get down If you wanna get hurt If you wanna get by for another night If you wanna breathe You forgot how to read You’re going too slow slow, graffiti oh Do you need proof that you’re still here? I know I do, that’s why I’m singing this

Stuck in repeating time Wait in some long line Caught in static and shoes Give me a moment, I’ve got nothing to lose Come! Come and stay Then repeat the next day Buy! Some brand new clothes Then repeat the next day Feed me my new line I don’t know what to say Strike some offhand match And watch the whole place Go up in flames Give me back my liminal life this solid one’s too much to bare Axiomatic principles have begun to wear on me I’ll let you ruminate while you finish your drink Meanwhile I’ll wait my turn, now’s not the time to think Come! Come and stay Then repeat the next day Buy! Some brand new clothes Then repeat the next day You’re unsure! You want to buy it You know you can’t so get out of here You’ve had enough! But you’re still at it These fashion cycles wear you down

Fast Friends 02:45
Do you recognize the man in the mirror? Can you empathize with the people around you? Are you paralyzed by what you read? Looking for some kind of satisfaction at the end of a paycheck? Well, I've got a cure I've got a dream I've got something you've never seen Just ask me how Ask me how Ask me how Ask me how Ask me how Ask me how Ask me how Ask me how Saw seven seas at the grocery store Lived my life on aisle five Put me on an altar, put me on a page When did rage become new age? Well, I've got a cure I've got a dream I've got something you've never seen Just ask me how Ask me how Ask me how Ask me how Ask me how Ask me how Ask me how Ask me how Fast friends living Fast friends giving Fast friends living Fast friends killing Dare I ask where we will be in 2033 Just ask me how Ask me how Ask me how Ask me how Ask me how Ask me how Ask me how Ask me how

Eat it up Drink it up These impressions aren’t enough Unreal lights on my eyes Eat it up Drink it up Come on and bottoms up Life’s made of finer stuff Tear it down Wear you down Numb yourself to the sound When you wake, who’s around? Feeling high Living low Pass me by Set the pace What’s the pace? The pace is slow I don’t want to Give up my time I just want to Repeat and Ride Sink your teeth In the real Underneath Don’t now how it feels Find your tongue Loose your voice The future’s gone And you choke on choice and

Algorithm 04:13
The world is so claustrophobic All these faces getting the best of me Can hardly move, can hardly breathe Cold black mirror gonna be the death of me Wake up Go to work And sleep Can't think Can't sleep Their hands My life, my life! The violence is so exhausting My eyes can hardly take it The distance between sight and feeling The distance between sight and feeling Wake up Go to work And sleep Can't think Can't sleep Their hands My life, my life! Stuck in the algorithm I say Break out, break out Stuck in the algorithm, I say Break out, break out Stuck in the algorithm, I say Break out, break out Possess my mind and leave me dry Cut my throat a bundle of wires Stole my language and made it short I remain idle, mute, and blind Wake up Go to work And sleep Can't think Can't sleep Their hands My life, my life! Built these roads for something Spilt some blood for someone Where does that leave us now The end of the world never feels like it Wake up Go to work And sleep Can't think Can't sleep Their hands My life, my life! Stuck in the algorithm I say Break out, break out Stuck in the algorithm, I say Break out, break out Stuck in the algorithm, I say Break out, break out How do you like me now? Similar similar similar similar yeah I'm a similar interest, perhaps you've heard of me? Stuck in the algorithm I say Break out, break out Stuck in the algorithm, I say Break out, break out Stuck in the algorithm, I say Break out, break out

Entropy 04:30
I don’t want Want to be By myself One more night How can I pay the price I’ll pay it twice for some peace of mind and I fell down Onto the ground A bed of leaves Without a sound I stand back up And look around I walk back home To the place I know and So I go, so I go Outside the comfort of my home Signal’s lost, signal’s lost Can’t hear the voice inside my head Entropy, entropy I hope my body doesn’t fall apart I don’t want Want to be By myself One more night and How can I pay the price I’ll pay it twice for some peace of mind and I fell down Onto the ground A bed of leaves Without a sound I stand back up And look around I walk back home To the place I know and So I go, so I go Outside the comfort of my home Signal’s lost, signal’s lost Can’t hear the voice inside my head Entropy, entropy I hope my body doesn’t fall apart And aren’t you feeling like yourself? And aren’t you feeling like yourself?

about

Silver Lake Waves’ debut EP Chandelier was recorded in early March 2020 at Mirror Mirror Recording. Influenced by everything from contemporaries in the Atlanta DIY scene to experimental punk and pop music, the EP has been two years in the making. Chandelier is a distillation of the band’s high-energy live shows, frantic writing sessions, and tendency to overthink everything.
